It's Better Than It Looks - Gregg Easterbrook

The author points out positive changes in humankind’s existence, and how it will rarely be reported in the mass media. For example, the author cites that world poverty has fallen from 37% in 1990 to 10% today, per the World Bank.

He also cites the Paul Ehrlich claim in 1970 in his book The Population Bomb, that the world may face mass starvation in 15 years. Not only did that not occur, but the WSJ in April, 2017, published an article “Crop Glut predicted to worsen”, per the author.

The author also cites that Gallup every month has published a poll of Americans as to whether they were satisfied with their lot in life. The last positive poll was in the Winter of 2004. Any guesses as to when Facebook debuted? The Winter of 2004. Social media can make all users upset with the world and their place in it.
